Hillhouse Wins National Award

Brady Hillhouse

Congratulations to COB and Miller School of Entrepreneurship Junior Brady Hillhouse. During November’s National Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization (CEO) Global Conference, Hillhouse won the Outstanding CEO Chapter Leader Award.

Hillhouse became the president of the ECU CEO chapter in 2018, which was formed in 2017 when two existing campus entrepreneurship clubs combined. Brady will currently finish out as chapter president through Fall of 2019.

Why was Hillhouse given the award? Miller School Instructor David Mayo has some ideas.

“Brady’s focus in his first two semesters as president was to promote CEO on campus, connect with the Miller School of Entrepreneurship, and more closely mirror standards and best practices from CEO national,” said Mayo. “Under Hillhouse’s leadership, ECU’s CEO chapter hosted multiple, co-branded events with the Miller School, including workshops, a hackathon, Hult Prize and a women’s entrepreneurship event.”

Added Mayo, “the club has seen great success in student entrepreneurial development with Hillhouse at the CEO helm. Club members and alumni have created more than 25 new jobs and secured nearly $2 million in funding. Six CEO members have placed in large pitch competitions, including the first two Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenges and IBM’s Call to Code.”

“Leadership begins at the top of the organization and under Brady’s leadership as CEO President the future looks bright for the organization,” said Mike Harris, Miller School director.
