Martin County Officials Present to SHL Seniors
Representatives from Martin County Economic Development, Martin County Tourism Development Authority, and the town of Robersonville visited the School of Hospitality Leadership’s hospitality financial management class taught by Dr. Bob O’Halloran. The goal of the meeting was to frame the next project for the students.
Each semester, students from this class conduct a preliminary feasibility study for a community, region and/or business that has an interest in developing a hotel in their community. The hotel site that will be analyzed is at the crossroads of the new I-87 and Rte. 903. It is about 18 miles from Greenville and 11 miles from Williamston, the largest community in Martin County. The study results and recommendations will be presented by each group (four groups) to Martin County and Robersonville officials during spring finals.
Previously the students in this course have completed their projects for Farmville, Tarboro, Washington, Belhaven, Edenton, Greenville, the Mattamuskeet Lodge (Hyde County), Duplin County (Duplin Winery), East Carolina University, Greene County and others.
