SHL alumni praises faculty for their inspiration
Alexandria Ray graduated from the College of Business in December 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and a minor in business. Since that time, she has worked for Aramark at Duke University and East Carolina University.
She filled us in on what she’s been up to recently.
“My hospitality degree gave me a foundation for food management, as well as business,” said Ray. “Because of that education and my experience, I have been able to become an associate controller. In this role. I focus on the financial side of the business and how our processes determine business decisions. Without the skills I learned at ECU, I would not have made it to this level of management. The professors design the courses to prepare students for real-life experiences.”
Ray says the faculty’s passion for the material is expressed through enthusiastic teaching that expands the mind and challenges normal thought patterns. “This program truly changed my life by giving me the confidence and skills needed to be successful in this field,” she added.
“I enjoyed ECU so much that I have enrolled in COB’s MBA program and plan to graduate in 2020.”
That’s a strong testament to the strong impact the COB and SHL faculty have on their students.
