Future leaders wanted for new Copeland Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship

We build leaders at the College of Business. Our leadership-focused curriculum and global- and industry-experienced faculty give our students an advantage.

The College of Business is now providing another opportunity for COB students to stand out and shine.

COB is looking for 10 participants of the inaugural class of the Copeland Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship. This two-year fellowship is a comprehensive program that celebrates and encourages a culture of diversity and inclusion. Participants will immerse themselves in an extensive range of programming that includes multi-cultural infused experiences in the classrooms and a celebration of the diverse experiences that our student body brings to the COB.

Students will be required to participate in diversity and inclusion related events for four semesters. Twenty hours will be required for each semester. The Copeland Diversity and Inclusions Fellowship web page provides more details about what’s entailed.

A business imperative

The Copeland Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship is possible thanks to a generous commitment from (COB) alumni Mark & Tracy Copeland. The Copeland family hopes this fellowship will continue the legacy started by the COB’s leadership and professional development curriculum.

Mark Copeland

“Diversity and inclusiveness are not ‘nice to haves,’” said Mark Copeland. “They are business imperatives. As (our) COB graduates embark on their next journey, they will quickly realize that diverse perspectives drive better decision-making, stimulate innovation, increase organizational agility, and strengthen resilience to disruption. With this investment, we are hopeful that many other business organizations will support this imperative to educate exceptional leaders that will maximize the power of all differences and realize the full potential of all of their team members – whether at ECU or in corporate America.”
