The Princeton Review® continues to recognize East Carolina University’s College of Business as one of the best in the country.

In an announcement issued on Dec. 8, The Princeton Review named the COB as one of the nation’s most outstanding business schools. The education services company chose the school for its list, “Best Business Schools for 2021.”

“We’re proud to be chosen by Princeton Review this year,” said Paul Russell, director of COB’s graduate programs. “Their recognition validates what we’ve known for a long time. Our students receive a high-quality education at a very reasonable cost. At a time when student debt is a growing problem in our country, we’re quite proud of our low tuition and available scholarships.”

According to the Princeton Review, the company chose the schools for its 2021 list based on data from the company’s surveys of administrators at business schools during the 2019-20 academic year. The administrator survey, which contained more than 200 questions, covered topics from academic offerings and admission requirements to data about currently enrolled students and graduate employment.

Princeton Review also factors in data from student surveys that addressed campus and classroom experiences. For the 2021 list, the company tallied surveys of more than 17,800 students at 244 business schools.” The student surveys were conducted during the 2019-20, 2018–19, and 2017–18 academic years.

When asked about the students who chose the COB’s MBA program, Russell said, “the majority of our students are fully online. This particular ranking is for on-campus programs. Our on-campus students tend to be excellent undergraduates who hang around for another year to complete their MBA. They look for opportunities to be close to their faculty and learn in a traditional environment.”

“Our MBA students can also customize their program by completing a graduate certificate in various fields,” said Russell.

For the past five years, more than 3,400 students have turned to the College of Business for the MBA program. This ranking marks at least the third year in a row for making the list.

In November, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship made the list of Top 50 Undergraduate Schools for Entrepreneurship.
