SHL-CMAA Student Chapter Wins CMAA Video Competition “Why Hospitality?”

The School of Hospitality Leadership’s student chapter of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) recently won the Video Competition staged by the Carolinas Chapter of CMAA. The challenge was for student members of SHL-CMAA to create a video, on their own, featuring their members and their university and sharing why they chose hospitality as their major and intended career.

The video (see the link to the video below) was placed on YouTube and alumni, CMAA members, classmates, faculty, and industry partners etc. were invited to view and like the video. The video with the most likes won. Student chapters from both North and South Carolina were eligible to participate.

As the winner, SHL-CMAA will receive $1,000. The funding will be used to help students to attend (virtually) the CMAA World Conference. Chapter Advisor Dr. Cynthia Deale said that “it has been wonderful to see members of our ECU CMAA student chapter create such a thoughtful, heartwarming video that truly addresses the meaning of hospitality.”

The CMAA members that created the video include Megan Mulvihill, Meredith Poteat, Megan Ash, Lauren Sulek, and Kaitlin Sulek.
