Isley Innovation Hub springs forward

ECU's Isley Innovation Hub moves toward a2022 openingConstruction on the Isley Innovation Hub continues to move toward a spring 2022 semester opening. Open to all ECU students, the 15,000 square foot space, which was the former Dowdy Book Store, will be one of the largest innovation hubs on any campus in the UNC system.

“The Isley Innovation Hub will become the initial stop on campus for students with innovative ideas,” said Dr. Mike Harris, director, Miller School of Entrepreneurship. “The various elements of space and programming are designed to encourage ‘creative collisions’ that produce interdisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurship.”

The Hub will be home to ideation and maker spaces, team rooms, teaching labs, a recording studio and gaming stations. Programming will help students test their concepts, develop business models and prototypes, identify team members, and attract and align resources.

This renovation project is made possible thanks to a $2 million, 2018 gift from Van and Jennifer Isley.
