ECU/NCLM’s Cultivate an Entrepreneur Program Officially Announced

An exciting new “match-making” program – Cultivate an Entrepreneur Program – between the Miller School of Entrepreneurship and the NC League of Municipalities (NCLM) was recently announced at the CityVision 2021 Virtual Summit. Multiple programs, such as the Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge and RISEUp Academy, are designed to identify and nurture student entrepreneurs so they are able to turn their ideas and concepts into viable business ventures. NCLM is partnering with the Miller School to match these students with member towns and cities that are committed to supporting these emerging entrepreneurs as they launch their businesses.

NCLM will work to identify a portfolio of communities willing to recruit entrepreneurial graduates in an effort to grow their local economies. The match will be made based on the entrepreneur’s needs and interests of participating towns and cities. This program will serve as a development process for municipalities as they reflect on assets they can provide to prospective businesses. Student entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to learn more about what resources these towns can provide and how they can integrate into a community.
