RMI students start semester of trips

Earlier this month, the ECU COB Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Program attended the 50th annual International Gamma Iota Sigma Conference in Columbus, Ohio.  Fourteen students traveled to the conference with Dr. Brenda Wells, RMI  and professor Kurt Fickling.  Funding for the trip was provided by the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina Education Foundation.

“Trips like this are a great opportunity for students to get to know each other and to meet students from other universities that have RMI programs,” said Wells. “Also, the career fair at this conference is top-notch, and lots of our students had successful interviews.”

The RMI student travels aren’t complete. They’ll soon travel to the Young Agents conference in Raleigh in late and in Nov., the RMI students will head off to the WSIA Extreme Risk Takers Symposium in Atlanta.

“The best part of traveling is watching students who barely know each other bond and become friends on the trip,” said Wells.
