Chullen named new associate dean for academic quality

Cody Logan ChullenThe College of Business has named Dr. Cody Logan Chullen its new associate dean for academic quality. He will report directly to the interim dean and serve as a senior leadership team member for the College. Chullen, a tenured professor in the Department of Management, will ensure the quality of all current and future academic programs and serves as a key leader in all academic quality-related activities, including assessment, accreditation, and new program development.

“I’m very proud to have Cody as a member of the College’s leadership team,” said Harris. “Since coming to the COB, he has exemplified all that we’re trying to accomplish at ECU and the College of Business, and he has played a strong role in the surrounding community.”

Chullen is very passionate about student development and learning. He is a recipient of both ECU’s Alumni Award for Outstanding Teaching and the College of Business Commerce Club New Faculty Teaching Award. His classroom efforts have also been recognized with grants through ECU’s BB&T Center for Leadership, including a BB&T Active Learning & Leadership Development Grant.

Supporting ECU’s public service and regional transformation initiatives, Chullen engages in an array of community service activities in and around eastern North Carolina. He serves on the Board of Directors for the REAL Crisis Intervention Center in Greenville, NC and Pitt County’s Nursing Home/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Board.

Academically, Chullen has presented his research at several regional, national, and international conferences and serves on the editorial boards for the Academy of Management Learning & Education Journal, the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and the International Journal of Stress Management (IJSM). In addition, he serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for an array of academic conferences and journals.
