Studying abroad in Prague - Pilsen, Czech Republic

by Gracyn Martin, junior, business management

Gracyn MartinSaturday was bittersweet, as it was our last day exploring the beautiful Czech Republic. We began our morning by meeting each other in the lobby, where I gave my
presentation on the History of Pilsen, the city we were visiting that day. After that, we were off to the train station with our wonderful tour guide Allie, leading our way. As soon as we arrived in Pilsen we walked to the Pilsner Urquell brewery!

Here we partook in a very informational tour, focused on the history and evolution of pilsner beer. We learned the detailed story behind the men who originally created
the beverage, as well as the historical and current process of creating the beloved drink.Pilsner Urquell breweryWhile touring, we journeyed underground into the 7-degree celsius beer cellars. Despite being a bit frigid, it was an amazing and certainly unique experience!

For lunch, we found a kebab restaurant where I got the opportunity to try falafel for the first time. After our meal, we hopped back on the train to Prague and spent the rest of the afternoon walking around while soaking up the city’s historical architecture and warm sunshine. For our farewell dinner, Allie surprised us with an Italian meal, riverside! This restaurant was located on an old boat and served fabulous pasta. We ended our evening
admiring the sunset view, reminiscing on the great memories made, and enjoying the last
bit of time that we had with each other.
