SHL grad awarded $4k in scholarships

Hailee Austin with ECU's Pirate MascontCongratulations to School of Hospitality Leadership graduate Hailee Austin. She is the recipient of two scholarships that have awarded her more than $4,000. The scholarships came from the Professional Convention Management Association and the International Association of Exhibition and Events.

Austin is in her first year of graduate school at East Carolina University. She is working toward her master of business administration degree with a certification in sports management. She is currently interning with ECU Athletics Pirate Hospitality and REVELxp, where she is learning to manage premium seating and hospitality in the sports industry. Hailee is also involved on campus as the vice president of the Women in Business Club and a senator for the Graduate and Professional Student Senate.

Austin’s previous experience involves interning at Hillwood Country Club, A Touch of Southern Events, and working in ECU’s College of Business Dean’s Office. Austin also worked as a  graduate assistant and  at ECU’s Campus Recreation Center as a facility manager. Upon graduation, Hailee plans to pursue a career in professional sports hospitality.
