Isley's first semester was a busy one

The Isley Innovation Hub “officially” opened on the first day of the fall semester. Since then, it not only has become a second home for ECU students, it has become the go-to center for campus-wide and regional meetings.

The Miller School hosted leading textile industry professionals in the Isley Innovation Hub on August 25th. This was one of the first events held in the new space. Attendees included Jim Chesnutt who aimed to meet with Congressman Greg Murphy to talk about issues and trends in the textile industry. The President and CEO of the National Council of Textile Organizations, Kim Glas, was also in attendance. The group was joined by Chancellor Rogers for a working discussion lunch.

The recently opened Isley Innovation Hub is already attracting the attention of those involved in the angel funding community in eastern North Carolina. The Miller School of Entrepreneurship partnered with the East Carolina Angels (angel investment fund) and Smith-Anderson law firm to create opportunities for the angel investment community and local entrepreneurs to learn about trends in the development of investment term sheets. Dr. Dennis Barber III welcomed the guests, Josh Diver and Will Pugh from Smith-Anderson spoke about investment term sheets, and Dr. Michael Harris offered closing remarks. The event was organized and moderated by Mark Wdowik, CEO of East Carolina Angels and the Pirate Entrepreneurship Fund.
