SHL Alumni Spotlight: Victoria Clark

I truly think being an ECU Pirate changes your life for the better and being an ECU hospitality alumna brings it to a whole other level.

Spending four years of my life surrounded by the best professors, and students and being submerged in the best curriculum with first-hand job experience and internships, my time as a hospitality student shaped me into the business professional I am today. During college, I was lucky enough to spend my summer and winter breaks interning for Las Vegas Sands Corp’s casino hotel in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I enjoyed my internship so much that I applied for a full-time position at the second-largest Casino Resort in the world: The Venetian and Palazzo in Las Vegas.

I spent four years working my way from a front desk agent to management for our groups and conventions, and finally to VIP management, where I helped run our VIP lounge, concierge desk and front desk for our high-end casino guests.  I thoroughly enjoyed the years I spent in Las Vegas, but southern hospitality was calling my name!  I moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina three years ago, where I now work for a full-service property maintenance and construction company, CRM Services. We provide full-service maintenance programs for resorts throughout the country, as well as design and renovate hotels and provide local property services for HOAs and resorts.

Although I do miss the day-to-day hustle and bustle of hotel management, I am enjoying my time expanding my knowledge in hotel construction and maintenance.
