SHL Participates in ECU's Spring '23 Open House

ECU recently participated in the Spring 2023 Open House in Minges Coliseum on March 25, 2023, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. More than 6,400 registered for the campus-wide event.

SHL welcomed hundreds of prospective and accepted students who plan to major in hospitality, as well as others looking for the right major, which we all know is “Hospitality”. SHL students and faculty assembled the booth, prepared materials and spoke with future pirates. SHL students included Avery Thomas, Noelle Edwards, Madison Pearson, Sarah Rodriguez, Noelle Edwards, Ben Chappell and Cara Gordon.  SHL faculty were represented by Dr. Cynthia Deale, Mr. Michael Fazzini, and Dr. Bob O’Halloran.

SHL students, or ambassadors, worked the four-hour meet and greet with soon-to-be SHL students, attendees looking for a major, parents, recruiters from the hospitality industry, and more. SHL, as a unit in the College of Business, distributed brochures and information on the program, its courses, activities and events.

SHL also shared its hospitality logo gifts with the attendees. SHL talked with more 200 families and students.

Said Dr. Bob O’Halloran, director, SHL, “It was a great morning and a chance to share the SHL story and its successes and the career pathways a hospitality management degree can open. It was a great day to be a Pirate!”
