Kirchoff named new marketing and supply chain management chair

Dr. Jon Kirchoff has been named the new chair for ECU and COB’s Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management. Kirchoff joined the College of Business in 2011 after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. Before academia, he worked 15 years in global purchasing and logistics management at Fortune 500 companies, including Mercedes-Benz U.S. International and Dish Network.

Kirchoff’s current appointment includes teaching, research, and service. His responsibilities as chair will also include administrative and academic leadership, as well as support for excellent education programs and scholarly contributions.

Kirchoff will report to the college’s interim dean, Mike Harris, and is expected to work effectively with academic deans, directors, other department chairs, and staff.

“I am excited to serve as chair and work with my colleagues to expand and improve on the many great programs in the MSCM Department and across the College of Business,” said Kirchoff. “I also look forward to starting new initiatives that help meet the needs of our students and, ultimately, build future leaders.”

“We’re very appreciative of the service, investments and program building that Diana (Haytko) did for the department over the past five years,” said Mike Harris, COB’s interim dean. “We’re excited for Jon to build upon those investments and move the department forward to continue meeting the needs of our students, the campus and the region.”

Kirchoff is expected to start his new role July 1, 2023.
