Barber named as SBI president

At the 2023 Small Business Institute Conference in Denver CO, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship faculty took center stage. Miller School faculty have won national awards with the organization in all but one of the past 16 years. The Miller School serves as a sponsor of the national conference and one of SBI’s journals, the Journal of Small Business Strategy (JSBS). Dr. Dennis Barber III serves as the Editor-in-Chief for JSBS. Dr. Barber has volunteered for five consecutive years on the SBI Board and was elected as President in Denver. He will serve in this role until the 2024 conference in Orlando, FL. Dean Harris, Dr. Barber, Dr. Emily Yeager, and Tristyn Daughtry were all on the program and highlighted multiple research and program initiatives around rural entrepreneurship.

The mission of the Small Business Institute® is to be the premier provider of professional development for those engaged in experiential student team consulting and related entrepreneurship education, research and activities. SBI is the link between business, education and community.
