What brought you to ECU?

I found the program online, and it was one of the few in North Carolina that offered a hospitality graduate program.

What was the moment you knew you made the right decision to pursue the Master of Science in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality?

I had several moments during the Master of Science in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality program when I knew I was right where I was supposed to be. I was applying different concepts learned from my coursework in my current career in real-time.

Tell us about a memory of one of your professors or classes that stands out to you.

I recall the smile that Dr. Cynthia Deale always wears on her face, which lights up the room. I was particularly excited to attend her voluntary weekly meetings because she knows so much about the travel and tourism industry.

What are your next steps after you earn your MSSTH?

Hospitality is my second career, and I have been working in the industry for about four years. I plan to continue to grow and expand my current duties and responsibilities as a director of TMC & Consortia Partnerships for the hotel brand that employs me. I am also on the HSMAI’s North Carolina Chapter board, so I will continue giving back to the industry with my knowledge and time. I am also a member of ECU’s SHL Advisory Board. I plan to volunteer my time supporting students and graduates for as long as I can.
