SHL Alum Spotlight: Andrew Nicklow
My education in the Hospitability Management program at ECU and the School of Hospitality Leadership paved the way for a successful career in the restaurant industry.
I learned many valuable lessons in the program. Learning about food cost management and being ServSafe certified before accepting my first management job at Applebee’s was very helpful.
From there, I worked both at Olive Garden and Chuy’s. I am currently the restaurant manager at Amos Mosquito’s Restaurant and Bar. I am very fortunate to work here. I am going on my 10th year at this family-owned and operated business. Amos Mosquito’s is in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina and is number one in the area on all the major rating and review websites. We make sure the guests have a great time when they enjoy our made-from-scratch entrees and desserts. My education and experience have allowed me to be a huge part of the restaurant’s success. We are also featured in Our State magazine, Southern Living, Diner’s Drive-Ins and Dives, and Guy’s Grocery Games, to name a few. I am currently working my way towards ownership at this great establishment.
