Headshot of Lindsay Clapp

After earning her degree in hospitality management with a concentration in special events and conventions from East Carolina University and the School of Hospitality Leadership, alumna Lindsay Clapp put her new skill set to work. After spending four years in Greensboro, North Carolina, working in the hotel industry, Clapp accepted a position as an event manager at the Raleigh Convention Center.

During her six years at the Raleigh Convention Center, Clapp planned and managed countless meetings, trade shows, galas, conventions, banquets and luncheons. The list of events entrusted to Clapp to manage included the (IBMA) International Bluegrass Music Association World of Bluegrass Festival, the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball, Lenovo North American Sales Kickoff, R6 Raleigh Major Gaming Conference, Animazement, Home Shows, WakeMed Hospital Gala, YMCA Youth and Government Conference and the North Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children Conference.

In 2019, Lindsay pivoted her skill set and started working in audio-visual and production, where she learned the technical side of events and virtual production. She provided cross-functional communication and coordination with production teams to offer customized client experiences. In February 2023, Clapp applied her supplier background to a career in event planning. She manages food shows and events for Merchants Distributors, Inc., out of Hickory, North Carolina.

Lindsay and her husband, Chris, reside in Wendell, NC (a town outside of Raleigh) with their two children, Tucker (6), Oakleigh (3) and their two dogs.

Lindsay is a member and serves on the board of ESPA, the Event Service Professional Association.
