In January of this year, Dr. Danny Ellis of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management was selected as Chairman of the Board for the Wildacres Leadership Initiative and its Friday Fellowship. The goal is to broaden the scope of Wildacres’ influence on North Carolina and its citizens for the next 50 years.

Wildacres is a non-profit retreat and North Carolina conference center serving other nonprofit groups conducting educational or cultural programs on topics such as music, art, science, pottery, lapidary, interfaith dialogue, quilting, and creative writing.

Danny Ellis has been working with Wildacres for 8 years

“I serve on this Board because I was actually a fellowship participant from 2008-2010. This fellowship trains statewide leaders in a two-year program around Human Relations and Civil discourse.”

“The most impactful memory was returning to the original site (Wild Acres in Little Switzerland, North Carolina) with the purpose of redesigning the selection process and criteria for future classes.”
