RMI's etiquette dinners continue

Kathryn Carroll speaks to RMI students.

The Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Program in the College of Business recently held its fall semester dining etiquette dinner.  The event was sponsored by Amwins.

Thirty-three students, faculty and sponsors attended the five-course dinner, which featured challenging foods such as soup, chicken on the bone, and stringy pasta.  Dr. Kathryn Carroll, an Emily Post Institute-trained etiquette expert, shared her wisdom with the students and explained how to navigate a complex place setting.

“Dr. Carroll always does an outstanding job with etiquette training, said Dr. Brenda Wells, Chairwoman of the Department of Finance and Insurance and Director of the RMI program.  “I’m also very pleased that we chose to use Julep for our venue.  Their staff bent over backward to accommodate our requests and provided an excellent five-course meal,” said Wells.

Representatives from Amwins traveled from Charlotte to attend the event.  “We are so thankful for our partnership with Amwins.  The company sponsored last year’s etiquette dinner, too.  Amwins is one of the largest employers of our RMI graduates, and we are pleased that they support our efforts,” Wells said.

The next etiquette dinner for RMI will take place in the spring semester of 2025.
