School of Hospitality Leadership Alumna Spotlight: Emily Willis

I graduated from the ECU School of Hospitality Leadership in 2022 with a concentration in event management. After graduating, I joined the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) as their Marketing and Events Specialist. During my time at EDPNC, I’ve worked on several exciting projects, including entertaining over 100 guests at the U.S. Open, planning and executing the annual Visit North Carolina Tourism Conference, and traveling to various trade shows across the United States. In my current role, I manage a wide range of events to attract new businesses to the great state of North Carolina.

East Carolina’s School of Hospitality Leadership played a key role in guiding me to a point where I could apply the knowledge and skills I gained in the program to my professional and everyday life. I can’t emphasize enough how the SHL program has shaped my success. It helped me define my career path and highlighted the importance of building meaningful connections within the hospitality industry. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and education I received at SHL.
