ECU College of Business professor delivers keynote at 2025 UNC Finance Conference
Dr. Cal Christian, PhD, CPA, professor and department chair of accounting in East Carolina University’s College of Business, served as the keynote speaker at the 37th Annual UNC System Finance Conference held March 12–14, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville, NC.
The event welcomed approximately 400 attendees from institutions across the UNC system, gathering for a week of professional development, networking, and collaboration.
Dr. Christian’s keynote presentation, titled “It’s Your Life, What Are You Going to Do?” closed the conference on Friday with an inspiring message on personal leadership and potential. His session encouraged attendees to reflect on their roles within the UNC system while considering how intentional choices can create meaningful impact.
“Each one of us has a unique responsibility within the UNC system, but we are also part of something bigger,” Dr. Christian shared. “We will explore how to reach your potential and lead others by first leading yourself. You should leave the conference appreciating the influence you have.”
Several members of ECU staff were in attendance to support the event and the university’s representation at the conference.
