In turn with Anthony Fraraccio
In turn is a new series dedicated to highlighting the interns and internship opportunities that can be found within the College of Business (COB).
Anthony Fraraccio is from Cary, North Carolina and plans to graduate this December with a BSBA and a double concentration in marketing and supply chain management. He spoke with us about his two, yes two, recent internships.
How did you learn about the internship opportunities at Bridgepath Career Advisors and Carolina Financial Services Group?
I have been fortunate enough to intern for both companies in the summer and fall of 2020. Both opportunities were emailed to me by Melissa Parks, titled as “Internship Opportunity.” For both internships, I read the email and then decided if I would be a good fit for the role. From there, I sent my resume to the appropriate contacts.
How did the COB prepare you to be the chosen candidate?
COB has emphasized the importance of having a strong network of people and learning how to use your resources. Once I heard about the Career Center within the COB, I knew it would be beneficial to get to know the person in charge of internships, Melissa Parks. After meeting with her and realizing the importance of utilizing LinkedIn and communicating with your professors, it was easier for me to talk to participants during an interview because of my practice conversations with other professionals. This is a tactic I have utilized once I learned its importance in BUSI 1200.
Describe your experience at the COB.
A great one. Working in a group setting and accomplishing tasks (pre-COVID-19) really set the pace for how a business operates and makes its decisions.
Why would you recommend a business student take advantage of an internship opportunity? 
Experience. It’s something every employer wants. It teaches you how to complete tasks outside of the classroom and gives you a glimpse of the working world.
What was the moment during your internship search process where you knew that your ECU COB education has paid off?
All my business professors stressed, “never be afraid to ask questions.” Along with learning how to network, this was another concept that will stick with me forever. During my summer internship it was a very autonomous one, and I was constantly asking questions to make sure I was on the right track. My employer said she appreciated the number of questions I asked.
