SHL Career Fair moves back to face-to-face
The annual School of Hospitality Leadership Career Fair was held on February 16, 2022, in the ECU Main Campus Student Center. Organizations had options to attend face to face or virtually through Handshake, a recruiting platform. More than 50 recruiters representing 22 organizations attended in person. One organization participated via Handshake.
Participating companies represented lodging, clubs, resorts, vacation rentals, food and beverage attractions. These companies included:

- Biltmore Estate
- Coral Bay Club
- Daly Seven Inc.
- Durham Bulls Baseball Club / Bull City Hospitality
- East Coast Hospitality
- Empire Eats
- First Carolina Management Inc.
- Kings Dominion
- Marriott International (Virtual participating via Handshake)
- Narsi Properties
- North Ridge Country Club
- Parks Hospitality Group – Homewood Suites Greenville
- Pinehurst Resort and Country Club
- Prime Investments & Development
- Residence Inn by Marriott

Marriott, the company that participated via Handshake, scheduled 17 one-on-one virtual interviews.
According to Dr. Bob O’Halloran, director of the School of Hospitality Leadership, students filtered their way through the booths and participated in many discussions.
“For some students, the SHL Career Fair was the first event of its kind they attended since the Campus started opening for similar events,” said O’Halloran. “Likewise, some recruiters noted that this was the first career fair they have participated in more than two years.”
O’Halloran added that planning for next year’s Career Fair has already started.
