SHL students inducted into honor society
The School of Hospitality Leadership (SHL) Chapter of Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), the International Hospitality Honor Society, held its induction ceremony Nov. 10, 2022. The ceremony was attended by nineteen people including inductees, current members, SHL faculty, family and friends. The ceremony was coordinated by Dr. Cynthia Deale, the ESD chapter advisor and ESD chapter president, Noah Presley. Noah Presley introduced the chapter officers; VP, Ben Chappell, Secretary, Miriam Caughron, Treasurer, Ana Verouden, Communications Director, Zachary Stephenson and Events Director, Cheyenne Kober.
Deale provided an overview of Eta Sigma Delta and Kober shared the history of the organization. The guest speaker was Dr. Robert O’Halloran, director of the SHL, who spoke about the ESD Points of Honor and their relationship to the hospitality industry.
Zachary Stephenson led the inductees and members in the celebration of the six points of honor.

The ceremony then proceeded to the ESD Oath.
The inductees included both SHL graduate and undergraduate students:

- Noelle Edwards
- Delaney House
- Elizabeth Jordan
- Emily Orr
- Madison Pearson.
The event closed with a celebration of the inductees’ academic achievements.
