OES Names New Cohort of Sponsored Activities Fellows

The College of Business at East Carolina University has announced the second cohort of its Sponsored Activities Fellowship, an initiative led by the Office of Expert Services (OES) to increase faculty engagement in grant writing and micro-credential development.

This year’s fellows—Dr. Cody Chullen, Dr. Dennis Barber, Dr. David Pooser, and Dr. Yeliz Eseryel—will complete a focused series of workshops and submit a proposal for either a grant or a micro-credential program by the end of the fellowship, which runs from April 1 to August 15.

Originally launched to boost grant activity, the fellowship now also supports the creation of micro-credentials—short, skills-based programs designed to meet regional workforce needs. Workshop topics include proposal writing, budget planning, marketing, and the submission process.

As ECU continues to prioritize sponsored research and professional development, the Sponsored Activities Fellowship is helping position the College of Business as a leader in high-impact academic and community engagement.
