On May 31, 2025, the Office of Expert Services and the Department of Management Information Systems in East Carolina University’s College of Business jointly hosted an AI robotics workshop at the Isley Innovation Hub. A total of 25 participants attended the event.

The workshop aimed to:

  1. Introduce the fundamentals of AI robotics
  2. Explore potential applications of robotics across various industries
  3. Provide an interactive demonstration and hands-on experience with an AI robotic dog

AI robotics are playing an increasingly significant role in society. At the beginning of the workshop, participants were invited to share their initial thoughts about robotics, revealing a wide range of perspectives (as shown in the figure below).

Throughout the session, attendees showed strong interest in learning about AI robotics and actively participated in hands-on activities with the robotic dog. By the end of the workshop, participants expressed enthusiasm for the field, with many indicating a desire to form a robotics team and continue their learning. They also expressed appreciation for the opportunity and gratitude for ECU’s efforts to engage with the local community.

The College of Business remains committed to empowering students and communities by providing access to emerging technologies and supporting their application to improve organizational performance.
