A Very Busy Business Group: Gamma Iota Sigma
Gamma Iota Sigma – Beta Theta Chapter (GIS) is one of the most active organization in the College of Business, offering travel, networking and professional development opportunities for its members. GIS is a nationally-chartered fraternity for students interested in careers in risk management and insurance (RMI).
Open to all majors, GIS has several local networking events each semester, and, opportunities to travel nationally. For instance, this semester a group of twenty students will be attending the GIS international conference in Chicago, IL.
The faculty advisor for the chapter is Dr. Brenda Wells. She notes that “GIS is a great opportunity for students to meet each other and to find jobs in the RMI field. In our RMI program we have a near-100% employment rate for our graduates which we’re very proud of. GIS makes that kind of success possible.”
