COB to Welcome President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond

East Carolina University and the College of Business will host Tom Barkin, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, who will speak to business and economic students Tuesday, Feb. 12, 3:30-5 p.m. in ECU’s SciTech Building, Room 346.

Barkin’s visit represents the first time he will speak to college students in North Carolina.

As part of his presentation, Barkin will discuss the role of the Federal Reserve in the national and regional economies, as well as how his business experience prepared him to be president of one of 12 regional Reserve Banks across the country.

Following the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session for students.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond serves the 5th District (North Carolina, Maryland, South Carolina, Virginia, most of West Virginia and Washington, D.C.). Barkin’s visit to ECU is part of his ongoing engagement with people and communities around the district.

 

ECU’s College of Business is located in Greenville, North Carolina and currently has more than 28,000 alumni throughout the United States. It’s one of the largest colleges of business in North Carolina.
