RMI students visit AAA Carolinas

On Feb. 22, 2019, AAA Carolinas Insurance in Charlotte hosted students from the College of Business’ Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Program for a site visit.  Twelve students and two faculty members enjoyed hearing from AAA representatives, including ECU RMI alumnus Spencer Phillips and Jim McCafferty, president and CEO of AAA Carolinas Insurance. Students also were treated to a barbecue lunch and received custom-printed computer backpacks.

“AAA has become an important partner to ECU and our program,” says Dr. Brenda Wells, RMI program director.  “Our hosts at AAA are extremely welcoming and encouraging, and they are always open to new ideas on ways that we can work together to help ECU students.”

While the relationship with AAA is less than two years old, the company has already hired several ECU RMI graduates, and several more are applying now for upcoming openings.

“The students who work at AAA really love and appreciate the friendly culture of the company,” says Wells.
