From the COB to the boardroom: Nichole Alley
Nichole Alley, an instructor in the COB’s Leadership and Professional Development Curriculum, was recently sworn in as a Greenville-Pitt Chamber of Commerce board member. Her three-year term started in January ’25.
On choosing to serve on the board, Alley said, “I believe in the power of collaboration and the importance of fostering growth in Pitt County. I’ve seen first-hand how working together can positively impact our students and enhance the region.”
On what she expects from serving on the board, Alley said, “This role allows me to contribute to the success of local businesses, support economic development, and help shape the future of Greenville and Pitt County. It also offers an opportunity to grow as a leader on campus and beyond. I’m passionate about sharing the value of local chamber involvement with our students, helping them build meaningful connections to support their future success.”
Alley, who received her MBA from ECU, is a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional who teaches BUSI 3200 Ethical Leadership and Professional Development. She uses her experience working with professionals in various industries to help students think deeply about their leadership strengths, communication styles, and professional values so they are ready to join the business world after graduation.
“She has been a valuable part of our LPDC team in the classroom and has helped us in the community by growing our professional volunteers for the BUSI 3200 networking events,” said Kathryn Carroll, LPDC Coordinator.
