Charlie Brown is a teaching instructor for the course; BUSI 2200, Experiential Leadership: Teams in Action in the East Carolina University College of Business. Charlie received his Masters and Ed.D. from East Carolina University. Prior to coming to the College of Business he was the Associate Director for ECU Center for Student Leadership. Charlie focuses on teaching students how to build and lead effective business teams. In addition to his role in the College of Business, he serves as an Adjunct Leadership Coach for the Golden Leaf Scholars Leadership Program in partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership as well as a trained facilitator of the Kouses and Posners Leadership Challenge. In the spring of 2017 Dr. Brown received ECU’s 40 under 40 Leadership Award. Charlie recently completed the 2019 ECU Faculty Fellow Leadership Academy.
Charlie resides in Washington NC with his wife Misty and two daughters Hadley and Tatum. Since 2010, he and his wife have owned and operated a youth recreation facility, Tumble B Gym in Washington NC. Their mission is to offer children a positive and nurturing environment where they excel in developmental skills through beginning gymnastics, tumbling and fitness. Their additional programs include an afterschool program, summer camps, all star cheerleading, and scholastic cheerleading training.
