Dr. Mark McCarthy is a Professor in the Department of Accounting at the East Carolina University College of Business. His research interests include financial reporting and have been published in journals including Accounting and Business Research and the Journal of International Business Studies. His teaching focuses on financial accounting and reporting. He is engaged in service activities at the university, college, and departmental level. Prior to academia, he worked with two small accounting firms in Columbia, SC. He is registered as a CPA in the state of North Carolina. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina.
