Dan Schisler is currently a Professor at East Carolina University, and he has been on the ECU faculty since 1992. Dan received a Ph.D. from Memphis State University and a Masters of Accounting, Tax Concentration, from Auburn University. In addition to public accounting experience with the international accounting firm Peat Marwick Main & Co (now KPMG), he has published numerous articles in national academic and practitioner journals such as Journal of the American Taxation Association, Advances in Taxation, and Accounting Horizons (among others). Dan is also a co-author of the tax text Fundamentals of Taxation published by McGraw/Hill Irwin publishers. He teaches tax and accounting at the graduate and undergraduate level at East Carolina where he has been recognized for teaching excellence by receiving numerous teaching awards at the department, school, and university level. Dan is a CPA in North Carolina and Louisiana.
