Graduate Assistant New Hire Forms

I-9 Verification Form

Once your contract has been fully approved, you will be contacted by the Student Employment Office if you need to complete your Federal I-9 Form. The I-9 is a federally mandated verification process whose function is to verify the identity and employment authorization of all U.S. and Non-U.S. Citizens employed to work in the United States.  For current or returning student workers, a new I-9 may be needed after 3 years if there is a break in employment or documents (e.g. your passport) have expired.

If an I-9 is needed, you will be contacted by the Student Employment Office (SEO) and you will receive an email from HireRight to complete Section 1 of the I-9 form. Please check your junk/spam mail if you have not received this email and contact the Student Employment Office if you need it sent again.  Section 2 of the I-9 form must be completed in person or virtually.  Details of these options are below.

In Person Option

Section 2 of the I-9 form can be completed by presenting your actual documents (PDF) to the SEO in the Old Cafeteria, Room G403. Appointments are not required. The office is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Virtual I-9 Option

If you would like to choose the virtual option, use the link in the email from SEO. After the appointment has been set, you will receive an email from HireRight to upload your document(s). Section 2 document(s) must be uploaded to HireRight prior to the live video call and the same document(s) that are uploaded must be presented during the call.
