Graduate Assistant New Hire Forms

I-9 Verification Form

Once your contract has been fully approved, you will be contacted by the Student Employment Office if you need to complete your Federal I-9 Form. The I-9 is a federally mandated verification process whose function is to verify the identity and employment authorization of all U.S. and Non-U.S. Citizens employed to work in the United States.

If an I-9 is needed, you will be contacted by the Student Employment Office (SEO) and you will receive an email from HireRight to complete Section 1 of the I-9 form. Section 2 must be completed by presenting your actual documents to the SEO. Appointments are not required. Please check your junk/spam mail if you have not received this email and contact the Student Employment Office if you need it re-sent. For current or returning student workers, a new I-9 may be needed after 3 years if there is a break in employment or documents (e.g. your passport) have expired.

For further assistance, contact Katherine Simonowich or call at 252-737-5572.

If you are not currently residing in Greenville, please contact Katherine Simonowich to make arrangements to facilitate completion of this at the nearest college/university to your current location or by locating your own notary.

Direct Deposit Form

Direct deposit is required of all University employees. Directions on how to set up your direct deposit are included in the Student Employment Packet.

Tax Forms

All student employees are required to submit a NC-4 and a W-4 form. These forms will not be available through Banner Self Service until your hiring paperwork has been processed by Human Resources. You can expect to see the “Employee” tab to appear in Banner Self Service once the hiring process is complete. Directions on how to complete the tax forms are provided in the Student Employment Packet.

International students, please contact internationaltax@ecu.edu to schedule your appointment to complete your tax assessment. You will also need to obtain a Social Security Number, so please contact Dr. Bill Mallett, Assistant Director of International Student Advisement, 252-328-1939 to help you with this process.
