School of Hospitality Leadership – Study Abroad Program

Sustainable Ireland Summer 2024

According to the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Tourism Organization, sustainable tourism can be defined as, “Tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.”  Come with us to explore how Ireland embodies this form of responsible tourism that is good for the environment, good for the local community, and good for the tourist.

Dates: May 5-17, 2024

Cost: $3,930 plus airfare and $75 application fee.

6 credits available: undergraduate and/or graduate

Applications need to be submitted by January 31st, 2024.

School of Hospitality Leadership – Study Abroad Program

Sustainable Ireland Summer 2025

As an undergraduate student or a graduate student, you are invited to participate in the School of Hospitality Leadership’s Summer Study Abroad program called Sustainable Ireland in May of 2025. Join us to study sustainable hospitality and tourism in Ireland. Sustainable tourism addresses current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts, and focuses on the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities.

Come with us in 2025 to explore how Ireland embodies responsible, sustainable tourism that is good for the environment, good for the local community, and good for the tourist.

Travel Dates are May 11 through May 23.

Ireland Application 

Undergraduate classes:

  • HMGT 4900—Independent study in lodging
  • HMGT 4901—Independent study in food & beverage management
  • HMGT 4902– Independent Study in Conventions and Special Events
  • HMGT 4905—Hospitality International Experience

Graduate classes:

  • SUTO 6600 – Study Abroad in International Sustainable Tourism and Management
  • SUTO 6610 – Sustainable Tourism Field Studies in Regional and National Settings
  • SUTO 6710 –Special Topics in Sustainable Tourism
  • SUTO 6900 –Independent Study

Cost:
