Convention and Special Events Management Concentration
The area of conventions, meetings and special events continues to grow across the hospitality industry. Convention centers, convention hotels, private clubs and many other businesses employ conference service managers, special event coordinators and convention sales professionals to enhance this segment of their business.
In the special events area in particular, the opportunity exists for young professionals to pursue entrepreneurial goals. In addition to leading convention centers in most major cities, companies like Gaylord provide great career opportunities in this area.
The BS in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Convention and Special Events Management is taught in a traditional face-to-face environment and via distance education.
Food and Beverage Management Concentration
The food and beverage industry is one of the largest industries in the country. Careers in the food and beverage industry abound at all levels of service. Quick service, family restaurants, fine dining, contract food service, etc. are all options for students that want to work in the front and/or back of the house.
Our students are regularly recruited by such leading companies as ARAMARK, J Alexander’s, and Darden restaurants. Careers can start in the kitchen and/or dining room and/or beverage area.
The BS in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Food and Beverage Management is taught in a traditional face-to-face environment and via distance education.
Lodging Management Concentration
The lodging industry is a world wide career opportunity. Lodging operations range from Bed and Breakfast Inns and entrepreneurship opportunities to positions with corporate giants like Marriott, Hilton, and InterContinental.
Career opportunities exist on the corporate side and the franchise side of the business from the front desk, to sales, or back of the house in housekeeping and maintenance.
