Term Dates

ECU operates an academic calendar across 4 semesters.

• Fall: late August thru mid-December; course registration generally opens the last week in March
• Spring: early January thru early May; course registration generally opens the first week in November
• Summer 1: mid-May thru mid-June; course registration generally opens the last week in March
• Summer 2: mid-June thru late July; course registration generally opens the last week in March

Registration Information

The course registration schedule can be viewed on the Registrar’s Office website. Fully admitted students are encouraged to register for classes as soon as possible for the best class selection because classes can reach capacity prior to the start of the semester.

New students and current students will register themselves for classes using the Registration and Planning card in PiratePort. Students who are currently on academic probation are not eligible to register until grades for the current semester are posted and reviewed. As a graduate student, you may make schedule changes (add or delete one or more courses) at any time from the start of registration until the end of the Course Adjustment Period.

Previous semester schedules listed below can help you plan ahead for future semesters, especially with regard to electives. While there’s no guarantee that future semesters will offer the exact same courses, it’s a great place to start. Remember, all MBA Foundation and CBK (Common Body of Knowledge) courses are offered every Fall, Spring, and Summer. The MSA, MS-STH and certificate programs almost always follow the same pattern of offering.
